Copy Wii Games and Save Cash!

A few viewers have asked for more detailed instructions on how to duplicate Nintendo wii games, therefore I have written them up today so that you can enjoy!

When the Wii first came out, there was no good way to play copied games. Nintendo had the consoles locked down tighter than a drum. Then mod chips came out, and we all heralded it as a glorious day. Fast forward to this year, and there’s something even better that doesn’t call for opening up your Wii and mucking about in it’s guts like installing a mod chip did.

The new method involves something a little more in line with finesse. Instead of breaking open your Wii, you simply install a special program onto your computer that allows you to rip and burn game discs as though they were any other type of disc.

I promised you a guide, though, and not a bunch of rambling. So here it is:

1:

Get a hold of the program, and save the executable file on your pc’s desktop. The same file works on either a Pc or mac. I believe they are actively developing a package for Linux.

2:

Install the application that you just purchased and downloaded. The file is on the desktop, remember? Double click the .exe. A splash screen will appear. Press the button that says “Install”. (If you hit cancel by accident, just start over with this step.) When it finishes, it will says that the installation completed successfully.

STEP 3

Now, go through your Wii game collection and grab the first game that you want to copy. Don’t worry, there is no danger to the Wii game disc in this process!

Four:

The game copy software is now installed, so start ‘er up! You can either launch it from the shortcut on the desktop (don’t try to run the .exe file again though!) or by going to Start — Programs — and then picking the name of the program.

Five:

Now, you’ll be ripping the game. If you’ve ever ripped a music CD the process is somewhat similar. If you’ve ever ripped a movie DVD, the process will be extremely similar. In the game copy application, hit the drop down menu at the top that says “mode”. Pick the option for “read”. It will then prompt you for the location to copy the file to on your PC. I recommend creating a special folder on your desktop, or in “My Documents”. Click Start.

Six:

Okay, if you made it this far, I am assuming that the copy finished correctly. Otherwise, start over at Step 2. At this point, remove the game disc out of your optical drive, and place a blank CD or even DVD in it. Almost any CD or DVD that is compatible with your drive works. Within the applications menu, select “write” function. And then browse to the file that it copied to your desktop. Hit “Start”.

Seven:

Now, sit back and throw on some Pink Floyd. You’re going to have to wait about 15 minutes for the burn to finish due to the large amount of date that it being burned. Be patient. When it’s done, then you’re all set! Just label the disc and throw it in your Wii to play it!

That’s it! Hope you enjoyed the guide!
